Assorted Metal Testing Strips

Ideal for exploring metals and their reactions to magnets.

Overview

Contains a varied selection of metal strips including steel, aluminium, brass, copper and more, ideal for exploring magnetism.

Elevate your science lessons with these assorted metal testing strips, designed to enrich lessons surrounding magnetism and materials. Addressing the UK Science curriculum for Years 3 and 5, these strips support learning outcomes such as comparing materials based on their magnetic properties and understanding physical properties through hands-on experimentation.

The collection features strips marked for easy identification, allowing students to efficiently match each metal to its corresponding code. With a variety that includes soft and hard aluminium, multiple types of steel, and more, students gain comprehensive insights into magnetism in a practical setting.
Made with classroom durability in mind, each metal strip measures W25 x L50mm. This product not only facilitates critical scientific exploration but also encourages an engaging and investigative approach to learning.

Supports the National Curriculum

Science, Year 3, Forces & Magnets

Compare and group together a variety of everyday materials on the basis of whether they are attracted to a magnet, and identify some magnetic materials.

Science, Year 3, Forces & Magnets

Observe how magnets attract or repel each other and attract some materials and not others.

Science, Year 5, Properties & Changes of Materials

Compare and group together everyday materials on the basis of their properties, including their hardness, solubility, transparency, conductivity (electrical and thermal), and response to magnets.
