Best Junior Learning Reception Teacher Planner Phonics

Overview

• Resources align with daily lessons and introduce decodable readers shortly after teaching letter sounds to apply new knowledge.

• This planner helps teachers structure their phonics lessons effectively, progressing from phase 2 phonics, which introduces early letter sounds, through phase 3 phonics, including more complex vowel digraphs. Phase 4 focuses on CCVC and CVCC structures and multi-syllable words.

• Aligning with the UK curriculum, this planner supports Year 1 English objectives by aiding children in reading common exception words and noting unusual correspondences between spelling and sound. It helps children respond quickly with the correct sound to graphemes for all forty-plus phonemes, including alternative sounds.

• The structured approach enables children to use phonic knowledge and skills to decode words, enhancing literacy development. Visual examples of supplementary resources are included alongside daily lessons. Five hundred and eighteen pages of lessons and weekly plans cover the reception curriculum, with an eighty-eight-page revision section and assessments providing review opportunities.
