Overview

These colourful place value counters facilitate outdoor learning of place value, allowing children to construct numbers up to four digits.

These foam counters are cornerstone resources for teaching place value in an outdoor setting. They adopt the Singapore Colour system, enriching the learning experience by enabling children to discover number relationships through direct interaction. These tools are not only hands-on but also visually stimulating, allowing for a deeper understanding of place value from an early age.

They are particularly relevant for Year 1 and Year 4 mathematics, aligning with curriculum aims around counting and the place value of digits within numbers. Their use encourages a practical exploration of maths, making abstract concepts more tangible. Suitable for ages four to eleven, the set includes different denominations to support broad numerical learning.
Constructed from foam and measuring 19cm in diameter, the counters are durable and visible, ideal for group activities. This resource supports outdoor instruction, adding a dynamic dimension to teaching maths concepts.
