Overview

Enhance children’s play by adding photographs of familiar faces to these wooden peg people, encouraging recognition and dialogue.

Unlock the potential of imaginative play with these wooden peg people, serving as a blank canvas for creativity. Children can decorate these figures with paints, markers, or fabric, making each figure uniquely their own. This activity is perfect for developing fine motor skills and artistic expression.

Integrating these figures into daily play scenarios allows children to explore complex social interactions and emotional expressions through puppetry and role play. Such activities align with the EYFS curriculum, specifically under expressive arts and design, by encouraging an understanding of diverse perspectives and cultural narratives.
Beyond creativity, these wooden figures are also excellent props for discussions about community, family, and the world. Teachers can use them to help children reflect on their own experiences and the variety in their surroundings, thus supporting the inclusive aims of understanding the world within the EYFS framework.
