The Literacy Box 3 ages 11+

A Collection of materials to consolidate comprehension, grammar, writing, and spelling skills.

Overview

Includes activities to teach twelve comprehension strategies, grammar terminology, and the meanings of prefixes and root words.

This resource enhances literacy skills for Upper and Lower Key Stage 2 English. It includes colour-coded cards with text on one side and questions on the other. The teacher’s guide offers ideas for teaching comprehension strategies, and a sequence chart helps plot which strategies are addressed on each card. Progression guides evaluate where pupils should start, and assessments monitor progress.

Supporting the curriculum, it aids Upper Key Stage 2 by maintaining positive reading attitudes and helps Lower Key Stage 2 retrieve and record information from non-fiction. Consistent use assists pupils in understanding what they read independently and checking that the text makes sense.
Prepared lesson plans simplify instruction. The box includes literacy cards, answer cards, a teacher’s guide, and progression guides. Assessments track pupil progress and adjust instruction.
