Class Fossil Collection

This set of thirty fossils allows children to explore non-living specimens from the past.

Overview

Contained in a segmented box, each with a unique number. The set includes an activity card, timeline, and fossil names.

This class fossil collection is designed to help children understand prehistoric life by investigating real fossil specimens. The hands-on approach allows children to explore geological history in a tangible manner.

The collection includes thirty numbered fossils neatly organised in a segmented box. It comes with an activity card and timeline that offer structured activities and historical context, making it easier for children to understand and relate to fossil formation and Earth’s history.
In Year 3 Science, this collection is perfect for teaching fossil formation and helping children see how living things become preserved in rock. For Year 6, it aids in understanding Evolution & Inheritance by providing data on organisms that lived millions of years ago, aligning with the Science curriculum.

Supports the National Curriculum

Science, Year 3, Rocks

Describe in simple terms how fossils are formed when things that have lived are trapped within rock.

Science, Year 6, Evolution & Inheritance

Recognise that living things have changed over time and that fossils provide information about living things that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago.
