Helping to Support Teaching and Learning

Crafting with precision: It ensures accuracy in model construction and design integrity by enabling precise measuring and cutting of the main frame material.
Fit for Purpose Testing: Facilitates product testing to assess if they create vehicles that meet the intended purpose, encouraging critical evaluation and iterative design.
Evaluation Skills: Encourages children to evaluate products, reflect on successes, identify improvement areas, and develop enhancement strategies.
Comprehensive Materials: Packed with components like motor spindles, wooden pulleys, and battery holders, this kit has everything needed to build 30 vehicles, ensuring a rich learning experience.
Technical Knowledge: Focuses on the application of electrical systems in product design, supporting the Design and Technology curriculum at Key Stage 2.

Make Your Own Motorised Vehicles D&T Class Kit

A kit for creating motorised vehicles with electric circuits and switches for immersive learning.

Overview

Designed for 30 KS2/KS3 pupils, this kit includes materials for building 30 models, enhancing STEM learning.

With this kit, children dive into the practical side of STEM, using their knowledge on electric circuits and switches to create motorised vehicles. It’s a perfect blend of fun and education, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

This kit directly supports the Design and Technology curriculum at Key Stage 2, emphasising the understanding and use of electrical systems in products. It also aids children in building simple series electrical circuits and learn about variations in component function.
Beyond electrical systems, the kit fosters learning in mechanical systems for Key Stage 1 and 2 students, exploring mechanisms. It’s a dynamic tool for bringing to life theoretical concepts.

Supports the National Curriculum

Science, Year 5, Forces

Recognise that some mechanisms including levers, pulleys and gears allow a smaller force to have a greater effect.

Science, Year 4, Electricity

Construct a simple series electrical circuit, identifying and naming its basic parts, including cells, wires, bulbs, switches and buzzers.

Design & Technology, Key Stage 2, Technical Knowledge

Understand and use electrical systems in their products (for example, series circuits incorporating switches, bulbs, buzzers and motors).
