Geometric Volume Set 17pcs

Explore geometric relationships with seventeen clear plastic shapes with lids.

Overview

This set of seventeen clear plastic shapes with lids helps children effectively discover geometric relationships and volumes.

Understanding geometric relationships and volumes is essential for children’s mathematical development. This set enhances hands-on exploration and practical learning. Constructed from durable plastic, these shapes are designed for regular classroom use and provide a clear view for easy measurement.

In Year 5 mathematics, this set supports the curriculum by enabling children to estimate volume. It also aids in understanding capacity through practical activities involving water. These exercises help children grasp fundamental concepts tangibly.
For Year 6, the set helps children recognise when to use formulae for the area and volume of shapes. It assists in converting between different units of metric measure, such as centimetres to metres and grams to kilograms. This approach ensures children develop a robust understanding of measurement and geometry, preparing them for advanced mathematical concepts.

Supports the National Curriculum

Mathematics, Year 5, Measurement

Estimate volume (for example, using 1 cm³ blocks to build cuboids (including cubes)) and capacity (for example, using water).

Mathematics, Year 6, Measurement

Recognise when it is possible to use formulae for area and volume of shapes.

Mathematics, Year 5, Measurement

Convert between different units of metric measure (for example, kilometre and metre, centimetre and metre, centimetre and millimetre, gram and kilogram, litre and millilitre).
