Helping to Support Teaching and Learning

Comprehensive Set: This 110-piece set demonstrates pulley mechanisms, ideal for exploring different pulley sizes in class.
Versatile Sizes: Featuring a range of pulley sizes from 10mm to 50mm, this pack provides various options for classroom experiments, enabling a hands-on approach to learning about mechanical advantages.
Easy Assembly: Each pulley is designed to fit seamlessly onto the included steel axles, ensuring easy setup for teaching and learning activities.
Educational Impact: Offers a practical illustration that some mechanisms, such as pulleys, allow a smaller force to have a greater effect, fitting perfectly with the curriculum needs for understanding simple machines.
Curriculum Support: Supports the D&T curriculum by helping children explore and use mechanisms like pulleys in their projects.

Bumper Class Pulleys Pack

A versatile pack of plastic pulleys and steel axles, perfect for D&T classroom demonstrations.

Overview

Features pulleys with 2mm and 4mm centre holes, fitting onto included steel axles, perfect for educational activities.

This comprehensive set of pulleys is designed to effectively support the teaching of mechanical systems and principles. Students can experiment with different pulley sizes to understand how variations in size affect the mechanics of lifting loads.

In a Key Stage 2 setting, investigate how pulleys integrate into broader mechanical systems, emphasising hands-on learning to build understanding of their impact on force application. This set aligns with the curriculum, targeting the students’ ability to apply their knowledge in designing and using mechanical systems.
Teachers can elaborate on the functionality of pulleys in Year 5 curriculums, which study forces extensively. Demonstrations using this set will exemplify how mechanisms such as pulleys enhance the ability to manage forces effectively, fostering a deeper comprehension of scientific principles.

Supports the National Curriculum

Design & Technology, Key Stage 2, Technical Knowledge

Understand and use mechanical systems in their products (for example, gears, pulleys, cams, levers and linkages).

Science, Year 5, Forces

Recognise that some mechanisms including levers, pulleys and gears allow a smaller force to have a greater effect.
