By handling the shapes and comparing them with objects from their environment, learners can connect mathematical concepts with the real world, laying a solid foundation for their academic growth in mathematics. The purposeful design encourages curiosity and exploration, enhancing young learners’ analytical skills while providing endless opportunities for discovery.

Supports the National Curriculum

EYFS, Mathematics

Compose and decompose shapes so that children recognise a shape can have other shapes within it.

Mathematics, Year 1, Geometry – Properties of Shapes

Recognise and name common 2-D and 3-D shapes.

Mathematics, Year 2, Geometry – Properties of Shapes

Identify 2-D shapes on the surface of 3-D shapes, (for example, a circle on a cylinder and a triangle on a pyramid).
