TTS Forces and Motion Parachutes

Explore the dynamics of forces and motion through interactive parachutes ideal for science lessons.

Overview

Explore how varying parachute sizes affect object descent speeds, aiding in understanding motion and gravity.

Engage Year 5 pupils with these durable fabric parachutes, designed to simplify the understanding of forces like air resistance. Through hands-on experiments involving three different-sized parachutes—20cm, 30cm, and 40cm in diameter—children can see firsthand the impact of size on airflow dynamics and landing speed.

This set offers versatile educational opportunities to challenge and excite young minds about forces and motion physics in real-world scenarios. By adjusting the weight and shape of the objects attached, children can explore various scientific concepts, making each session unique and informative.
Utilising these parachutes in your science curriculum supports the development of critical thinking and investigative skills. It effectively aligns with the Year 5 objective to identify how different forces, including air resistance, impact motion. The hands-on nature of the experiments helps to cement these fundamental scientific principles.
