TTS Giant Classroom and Outdoor Thermometer

Giant sized thermometer for both indoor classroom and outdoor playground display.

Overview

Equipped with a dry-wipe surface, enabling children to actively record temperatures for data logging in varying weather conditions.

This versatile thermometer, easy to view at 800mm, is designed for both indoor classroom and outdoor use, making it a key resource in teaching about temperature and weather. It can be mounted inside or outdoors, serving as an effective tool for engaging students.

For lower Key Stage 2 Science, it supports teaching systematic observations and accurate measurements, enhancing ‘working scientifically’. In Year 2 Mathematics, it complements lessons on measuring temperature in standard units.
Its dry-wipe front encourages active student involvement, allowing them to record temperature readings firsthand, thereby fostering analytical and enquiry skills.

Supports the National Curriculum

Science, Lower Key Stage 2, Working Scientifically

Making systematic and careful observations and, where appropriate, taking accurate measurements using standard units, using a range of equipment, including thermometers and data loggers.

Science, Upper Key Stage 2, Working Scientifically

Taking measurements, using a range of scientific equipment, with increasing accuracy and precision, taking repeat readings when appropriate.

Mathematics, Year 2, Measurement

Choose and use appropriate standard units to estimate and measure length/height in any direction (m/cm), mass (kg/g), temperature (°C), capacity (litres/ml) to the nearest appropriate unit.
