Learning Resources Big Feelings Pineapple™

A playful, hands-on resource for preschool children to explore emotions and facial expressions.

Overview

Designed to help children identify and discuss expressions and feelings, enhancing emotional literacy through play.

This resource engages preschool children in social emotional learning through interactive play. It includes twenty-six interchangeable facial pieces, allowing children to create a variety of expressions that depict different emotions. This helps them recognise and articulate feelings.

The pineapple’s dual-sided design facilitates constructing opposing emotions, visually comparing and contrasting feelings like happiness and sadness. This is effective for teaching children about human emotions and their facial expressions.
The set comes with various mouths, eyes, eyebrows, and hands, plus a multilingual guide with tips on introducing social emotional learning concepts. It supports emotional education goals in both monolingual and multilingual settings.
