Use text with only decodable regular and ‘tricky’ words to introduce the first twenty-one letters.

Supports Phase 2 readers who have strictly controlled vocabulary by following the letter-by-letter progression.

Children need a systematic approach to early phonics development. This set of phonic readers introduces the first twenty-one letter sounds using only decodable regular words and some ‘tricky’ words. This resource supports structured phonics knowledge, making it easier for children to grasp the basics of reading.

Aligned with the EYFS curriculum, these books help children read individual letters by saying the sounds and support reading aloud simple sentences and books consistent with their phonic knowledge. By focusing on Phase 2 sounds, these readers build a solid foundation for further literacy skills.
The books also aid in recognising letter groups that represent one sound and support learning common exception words. Suitable for book band red and reading levels one to three, this set is an excellent tool for early years literacy development.
