Each mat features real-world environmental audio and recordable buttons, hidden underneath the rocks, to inspire rich storytelling and language development.

• Take small world play to a new level with this inspiring four-piece mat collection designed to immerse children in the natural world through sound, storytelling, and sensory exploration. Each themed mat is crafted to spark imaginative adventures while supporting early communication and language development. Children can journey across frozen tundras, dive beneath the waves, roam the African Savannah, or tiptoe through enchanted woodlands, all while engaging with environmental sounds that bring each setting to life. The built-in recordable buttons offer opportunities to add personalised messages, stories, or sound effects, promoting expressive language and child-led narrative building. Perfect for early years settings, each mat encourages curiosity, creativity, and a love of the natural world. Use them individually or together to support themed learning, small group play, or cross-curricular exploration.

• Polar: Immerses children in the frozen wilds of the poles. With soft, snowy textures and built-in environmental sound buttons, think howling winds, crunching ice, and icy rivers flowing. Children are transported to a world of exploration. Recordable buttons allow educators and children to add narration, facts, or imaginative stories. Ideal for sparking scientific curiosity and storytelling in an open-ended play space.

• Beach & Sea: From the gentle lapping of waves to the cries of seagulls, the Beach and Sea Small World Mat creates a multi-sensory coastal experience for early learners. Children can imagine sea creatures beneath the surface, treasure buried in the sand, or a lighthouse watching from the cliffs. With space to explore marine life and seaside scenes, the mat includes recordable buttons for adding stories, messages, encouraging expressive language and creative play.

• Safari: Bringing the magic of the African plains into your setting. With rich visuals and real-world ambient sounds, children are encouraged to create their own wild tales. The addition of recordable buttons allows them to build narratives, describe animal behaviour, or recreate a safari ranger’s day. A fantastic way to foster language, geographical understanding, and role play.

• Woodland: The Woodland Small World Mat captures the magic of the forest floor. Form rustling leaves to babbling brooks, it’s a sound-rich backdrop that encourages sensory exploration and imaginative journeys. The recordable buttons are perfect for guided storytelling, adding facts about woodland animals, or capturing children’s own imaginative tales. A calming and inspiring resource for language development, connection to nature, and child-led play.
