Outlet Maths Float or Sink Set Outdoor Sand & Water|Space, Shape & Measure

Overview

• Explore buoyancy with a range of materials in this set, perfect for grouping, experimenting, testing and evaluating which items sink and float.

• This resource set is adeptly constructed from beechwood, plastic, and rubberwood, providing diverse tactile experiences critical for early childhood educational explorations. It includes an array of learning tools characterised by different physical properties, such as wooden and plastic geo solids, foam cubes, and transparent blocks.

• These materials serve as the basis for engaging experiments that help children understand concepts of buoyancy, weight, and volume. By predicting and testing which objects float or sink, children cultivate their observational skills and develop a foundational understanding of mathematical and scientific principles.

• The educational approach encouraged by this set aligns with the EYFS curriculum, focusing on group interactions and individual exploration. Children are urged to collaborate, hypothesise, and share findings, which enhances not only their cognitive abilities but also their communication and social skills within a learning context.
