Part Whole Cards 30pk

An excellent resource to explore the relationship between a number and its component parts.

Overview

Dry-wipe cards for use with whiteboard pens, but with spaces large enough for use with digit cards or manipulatives.

Part-whole cards enhance children’s understanding of numbers and their components. These reusable dry-wipe cards are ideal for interactive maths activities. The set includes six two-part/whole dry-wipe boards, perfect for hands-on learning. Note that pens and counters are not included.

These cards help children identify, represent, and estimate numbers using different representations in line with the UK curriculum. They are particularly useful for teaching number and place value in Lower Key Stage 2. Teachers can create engaging lessons to reinforce key mathematical concepts.
For Year one and Year two, part-whole cards are effective in teaching addition and subtraction. They help children solve one-step problems, recognise the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction, and check calculations. This versatility makes them valuable for various mathematical topics.

Supports the National Curriculum

Mathematics, Lower Key Stage 2, Number – Number & Place Value

Identify, represent and estimate numbers using different representations.

Mathematics, Year 1, Number – Addition & Subtraction

Solve one-step problems that involve addition and subtraction, using concrete objects and pictorial representations, and missing number problems such as 7 = ? − 9.

Mathematics, Year 2, Number – Addition & Subtraction

Recognise and use the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction and use this to check calculations and solve missing number problems.
