Feels-Write Pre-Writing Stones

Twelve resin stones to enhance pre-writing skills through tactile tracing of shapes and pattern recognition.

Overview

Enhance early years communication and literacy with these versatile stones, perfect for both indoor and outdoor educational activities.

These pre-writing stones facilitate engaging discussions about environmental shapes, serving as a tactile resource that children find easy to handle. During activities, children trace shapes with their fingers, improving literacy with Angela Thorogood, an Early Years Coordinator, praising their prior training in handwriting patterns.

The durability and texture of these stones allow for multiple uses in varied educational settings, from outdoor play to classroom activities. Children can lay paper over the stones to rub with crayons, making mark-making approachable and enjoyable while linking experiences to everyday learning.
Integrating these stones into both literacy and mathematics segments of the EYFS curriculum, educators can facilitate comprehensive learning experiences. Children proudly replicate these patterns on whiteboards, demonstrating advancement in their fine motor and cognitive skills, thus proving the stones’ value in early education settings.
