A must-have maths manipulative to help represent and understand the decimal numbering system, based on the powers of ten.

The base ten sets allow students to visually and physically manipulate numbers, making it easier to grasp concepts such as place value, addition, subtraction, and numerical comparisons in a base ten system. The 121 set comprises 100 red units, 10 yellow rods, 10 green hundred flats, 1 blue thousand cube. The 755 set comprises 500 red units, 200 yellow rods, 50 green hundred flats, 5 blue thousand cubes.

Aligning the colour scheme of physical manipulatives with the White Rose Maths programme enhances coherence in teaching and learning, allowing students to easily connect the hands-on resources with worksheets and presentations. This visual consistency can aid in reinforcing concepts and improving comprehension, ensuring that the learning experience is both engaging and effective.
